A Rare Replica Rolex Explorer Ref. 5500 and Salmon Dial Patek Philippe Ref. 3940

There are a variety of the coolest watches which are on sale through the internet, including all types you can find in different price. Isaac Wingold, a young enthusiast and collector from Toronto, Canada, is doing great things as a horological detective, digging up interesting replica watches that you might otherwise ignore. Except being a buying guide, Bring A Loupe is a good reference to know how collectors learn and think. Although you’re not in the market, it’s still worth scanning and you should not miss it.
As an editor, Bring A Loupe has been served as a source of inspiration to me for a long time, and it is regarded as the start of many an expensive undertaking. I am always fond of the weekly picks from the various scholars who have previously penned the column since it not only talked about their individual tastes as collectors but also the lengths to which they go for hunting down the best. It’s an honor for me to show some of my favorite types here.
Rolex Explorer Ref. 5500
With the market require for vintage sports Rolex replica models constantly up, it’s important to not let the references outside the spotlight’s direct focus slip past your radar. Ref. 5500 Explorer is the best example among such watches, which is virtually an Air King fitted with a gilt Explorer dial. This crisp-cased, clean-dialed example practically jumped off the screen at me when I was browsing for a better option, and I knew it would be the hot collection quickly.
Dating to 1959, this reference measures slightly smaller than an Oyster case Explorer you’d typically expect, at a conservative 34mm. We’re rather fond of the look afforded by the straight end links on this English-made rivet Oyster bracelet, which really completes the package the right way.   IMG_2421
Patek Philippe Ref. 3940 Salmon Dial
The ref. 3940 occupies a special position in the history of Patek Philippe, as one of the manufacture’s most iconic timepieces of the modern era. It’s a true classic if there ever was one, with perfect proportions, timeless styling, and the wonderfully finished cal. 240Q beating beneath the transparent case back. After manufacturing about 7,000 examples, the 3940 ended the production in 2007 at last.
What’s more, this is not an ordinary 3940G, as indicated by both its date of production and its salmon dial, which is not only extremely rare but also rather luxurious. As previously mentioned, this example dates to 2015, when it was produced for the brand’s 175th-anniversary grand exhibition held at London’s Saatchi Gallery. New-old-stock components were used to craft the piece, although design elements of its successor the Ref. 5140, which can be seen from the dial while inspecting the replica watch.
This 3940 is being offered by Boston’s European Watch Co., with the price available upon inquiry. You can click here for the full listing and reasonable price.
